That sound is me falling off the wagon….after nearly two years of not dying my hair myself and 7 months of not dying it at all, I have given in to the dark side (literately). My name is Leah, and I am a self-abuse hair dyer. In the past, perfectly good hair colour has been ruined with my meddling….I have vivid flash backs that still give me cold sweats. So, why am I returning to my old ways – well in one word INTERVIEW. I am registering with temping agencies next week and all this white hair has to go. I had hoped that my premature whiteness would look cool – kinda like Rogue in X-Men but alas no.

As I was sat on my sofa trying to work through the latest topic on my classics course – ‘Agamemnon’ by Aeschylus (no I can’t pronounce it either), I had a sudden thought here am I studying translations of ancient Greek plays whilst my other half is happily typing away on the latest techy language…dot netty or something that sounds rather like an aged aunt. I retreat further into the past, he zooms into the future and I wonder do we balance each other out in the present?
V happy about the double win by ‘The Office’ and hoping that this might spur Cablevision along into including BBC America in there cable package.

Watched The Apprentice repeats on TiVo from Saturday night – so disappointed, it was all hot air and no content. The whole girls against boys is very last millennium, and why was there no review or feedback on how either team performed in each task. I’d have thought it would have been fascinating to have shown clips with how the two teams negotiated for the different items and have Trump comments. Oh well - who’d have thought that America’s Next Top Model would make more informative and satisfying viewing. You go J Alexander teaching the world to walk…
Currently bitching my way through the Golden Globes… Very happy that ‘The Office’ won an award and no one in the audience seemed to know who they were. Reminded me of the Brit awards, years ago, when Belle & Sebastian won and there was this slight delay in clapping that screamed who the hell are they?!? I shall get back to complaining that ‘Dirty Pretty Things’ deserved a nomination but got NOTHING – a film that cuts too close to the bone me thinks.

My husband has a mistress,
But it’s not what you think,
My husband has a mistress,
I do dishes in the sink,
This little witch,
Is quite a titch,
A mix of chips and switches,
Too full of bugs and glitches,
Typing words and phrases,
Filling pages of pages,
She does not obey,
The things he tries to say,
My husband has a mistress,
But I am not a mug,
My husband has a mistress,
I can pull the plug.
